We fix heavy equipment where it sits, and handle mobile welding and fabrication. We're based right up the road in Clay County and work across Florida and South Georgia.
Our shop is in Middleburg, a short drive from Green Cove Springs. Green Cove is the Clay County seat, and there's real work here: the industrial yards out at Reynolds Park, the First Coast Expressway going in, and new warehouses and homes all over the county. A lot of the repair outfits online are up in Jacksonville and have to drive past everything to reach you. We're in the same county, so we get to your Green Cove jobsite fast, without a big travel charge.

When a machine your business runs on goes down, the usual path is brutal. Hauling a heavy machine costs a fortune, the dealer or shop is often a month or more out before they can even look at it, and the whole time it sits somewhere you can't even see it. Every day it sits is a day you're not making money.
We flip that around. We come to your jobsite, get eyes on it right away, and get it back to work as fast as we can. We also fix the real problem the first time, so it doesn't go right back down.

New machines can shut down over a DEF or sensor fault. They go into "limp mode" and won't let you reset it. The dealer can be weeks or months out while your machine sits, and that costs you money every day. We come to you, get it diagnosed, pick up the right parts the first time, and get it back to work.

Reed's Mobile Services is owned and operated by Tyler Reed, with 12 years of diesel, heavy mechanical, and structural experience. Your problem is his opportunity.
On top of repair, he does mobile welding and fabrication on heavy equipment, right on the jobsite.

His shop is in Middleburg, a few miles from Green Cove Springs. He covers all of Clay County and drives all over Florida and South Georgia, and farther when the job is right.

"Tore my root rake off on a big clearing job, called him in a pinch. He came first light next day and got me running before I even made it to the job. 20/10 best mechanic in the business."
"We had a piece of equipment break down at the port in Jacksonville. We got it to Tyler and he quickly found the problem, repaired it, and sent it back. Very communicative and helpful. I live in the USVI, so I was at the mercy of whoever I could find. Grateful, and will use Reed's again!"
"Had Tyler come out and build a frame for our work truck. Did a fantastic job and was a pleasure to deal with!"
"Tyler did a great job repairing the handrails on our trailer and installing the site bubbles on our holding tank. Definitely recommend!"
Yes. We are a mobile service, and our shop is right up the road in Middleburg. We drive to wherever your machine sits, whether that is a jobsite, an industrial yard, a farm, or a wood lot. Most repairs get done right there. If a job needs a shop, we have one and can bring the machine in.
Yes. Limp mode is the machine protecting itself after an emissions or sensor fault, like a bad DEF quality reading, a clogged DPF, or a failed NOx sensor. We plug in, read the codes, run a forced regen if it needs one, clear the derate, and find what actually caused it so it does not come right back. That is the work the dealer makes you wait weeks for, and we do it where your machine sits.
That's a hydraulic problem, and the cause changes the fix. Weak power under load points to internal leakage in the pump or a cylinder, a relief valve set too low, or a clogged suction screen starving the pump. Contamination is the number-one cause of hydraulic failures, so we check the oil and the filters first. We test pressure and flow before we replace anything, so you are not buying a pump you did not need.
On a tracked machine that's the final drive (the travel motor) or the undercarriage. A whine or grind behind the sprocket, oil leaking from the final drive, or one track moving slower than the other are the classic signs. It can also be a track-tension adjustment. We check the case-drain flow and the undercarriage on-site and tell you whether it's a seal, the motor, or an adjustment, before it turns into the most expensive repair on the machine.
Yes. There is a call-out and diagnostic fee, because a real diagnosis takes the drive and the time. Since we're based in Clay County, the drive to Green Cove Springs is short. We confirm that fee with you before we head out, so there are no surprises. Once we know what is wrong, we tell you the repair cost before we start any work.
Heavy equipment, on the mechanical side and the computer and emissions side both. That covers excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, skid steers and track loaders, backhoes, motor graders, telehandlers and lifts, cranes, rollers and road machines, forestry equipment, and tractors. We service all the major brands and plenty that are not on our list. If it is heavy equipment, just ask.
